I returned recently from a couple weeks visiting Suriname and French Guiana.
So many emotions.
They had been on my bucket list for years, and they did not disappoint.
(If you’re wondering, Suriname and French Guiana are located next to each other on the NE coast of South America, between Guyana and Brazil. Suriname is the smallest country is South America.)
I had sadness for the trip ending, and happiness for the incredible experiences I had, the wonderful friends I made in both places, and most importantly, for the things I learned about myself and the growth I experienced.
This trip was one of several overseas I made recently, catching up on a few years of pandemic-limited travel. These journeys really made me realize how at home I feel on the road, and how exploring new places and new cultures feeds my soul. And I’ve come to realize that I have a superpower of sorts for traveling and showing the world to others.
Where have you visited that had a lasting impact on you? Drop me a note or comment below.
Also, let me know if you’re interested in joining me in visiting more cool places that challenge you and help you grow. I’m putting together some group trips for 2023.
(Pic is me aboard one of the many small motorized canoes that ply the Moroni River between Albina, Suriname, and St. Laurent, French Guiana.)
